Is the PC4501 certified?
Yes. It is UL certified for Canada and the US (File SA46672) to four ASTM chainsaw standards: F1897, F3325, F1414 and F3324. It is not certified to NFPA 1977.
Is the whole pant flame-resistant?
All accessories, exposed fabrics and the inner lining are FR. The 50/50 Kevlar®/polyester pad is fully encapsulated in two layers of FR lining, which shield it from heat, flame and embers and keep it away from the wearer's skin. The blend also keeps the pad lighter.
Can we choose our own fabric or colour?
Yes. The outer fabric and lining are selected by the buyer from FR fabrics, including colour and fibre such as aramid or Nomex® IIIA.
What sizes are available?
2XS to 3XL, with custom sizing programs for larger orders.
Can our crews test it first?
Yes. We provide sample pairs for field evaluation. Ask us by email at info@panopliecorp.com.
Where is it made?
Made in Canada, with bilingual English/French labels.
Is European certification available?
EN ISO 11393-2 certification is in progress.

Care & Maintenance
How should the PC4501 be laundered?
Machine wash in cold water on a gentle/delicate cycle using mild detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and high-heat drying; instead, line dry in the shade. Wash weekly if used regularly, and inspect the inner protective layer. See our Care page for full instructions.
How do I know when to retire the pants from service?
Remove from service if the chainsaw protective layer is cut, torn, or displaced; the outer fabric has holes; the reflective bands are detached; or if the garment has been involved in a chainsaw contact incident.
